The Bus Station, , an illustration

I found this week's challenge: "Freckles" very difficult. I started out drawing portraits of people then dotting some freckles on, but I wasn't in love with what I was seeing.

Another rabbit hole I ventured down and did some sketches for was an idea for a white trash fairy named "Freckles", sitting on a couch, but after sitting with some of the sketches I ended up feeling really bad for the character and the humour just sort of left.

I took the bus from Carnoustie to Arbroath on Saturday for my #1 vaccine shot. Whilst sitting at the bus station I saw a very adorable interaction between a man and his daughter. It was apparent that the mom had taken her daughter to visit her dad at work at the bus station. Even though this subject matter has nothing to do with "freckles" in the main sense, I knew immediately that this was the subject matter I had to tackle this weekend past.

The situation reminded me of when I used to visit my dad at the fire station and remember being so delighted to see him in his element.
